The Delaware Blue Coats, NBA G League affiliate of the esteemed Philadelphia 76ers, have announced their plans to conduct their annual Open Tryouts, in partnership with Diamond Chiropractic. These tryouts are a significant opportunity for aspiring basketball talents. The much-anticipated event will occur on three separate dates:
September 16
St. Joseph’s Prep‘s Kelly Fieldhouse at 1733 W. Girard Ave. in Philadelphia, PA
September 23
William Allen High School‘s J. Milo Sewards Gym at 1740 West Turner St. in Allentown, PA
October 7
Wilmington’s Chase Fieldhouse at 401 Garasches Lane in Wilmington, DE
All tryouts will run from 9am-1pm. Registration begins at 8:30am.
The Blue Coats strongly urge prospective participants to register in advance. Online registration is currently open here. Limited walk-up registration will be accommodated, albeit subject to an additional processing fee. The Blue Coats will reward all participants who take part in these tryouts with a Blue Coats practice jersey as well as a family ticket pack for an upcoming game. Notably, esteemed coaches and personnel from both the Blue Coats and the Philadelphia 76ers will be present at these events, actively assessing the pool of talent.
As a prerequisite for participation, the Blue Coats require players to also adhere to the eligibility standards set forth by the NBA. Additionally, they must complete an NBA G League Medical Consent and Authorization form, alongside a Release & Eligibility Form.
In light of the Blue Coats’ victory in the NBA G League Championship during the 2022-23 season, they are eagerly preparing for the upcoming 2023-24 campaign. The season will open at Chase Fieldhouse in early November, with the team aspiring for a remarkable fourth consecutive trip to the Finals. The comprehensive game schedule will also be unveiled in the upcoming weeks.
