On February 3, Frank Mason of the Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers became the 18th player in Delaware franchise history to receive a GATORADE Call-Up to the NBA by signing a two-way contract with the Orlando Magic. He is the fifth NBA G League player to earn a GATORADE Call-Up during the 2020-21 season, joining a group that includes former Blue Coat Norvel Pelle.
Mason has appeared in 99 NBA games over his three-year career. In those 99 games, the former Kansas Jayhawk holds averages of 6.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 15.5 minutes per contest. He was the 2019-20 NBA G League MVP as a member of the Wisconsin Herd last season. In 23 G League games (all starts), Mason averaged 26.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 31.5 minutes per contest.
The NBA G League is the NBA’s official minor league, and it prepares players, coaches, officials, trainers, and front-office staff for the NBA while acting as the league’s research and development laboratory.
