Architecture Spots

Gibraltar, AKA the Hugh Rodney Sharp Mansion, a former DuPont family estate in the middle of Wilmington. Address: 2505 Pennsylvania Ave, Wilmington, DE 19806. Recommended by @shaughnessi.

Old Town Hall, a Federal-style building constructed in 1798! Address: 512 N Market St, Wilmington, DE 19801. Recommended by @abkimball.

Rockford Tower, which was built as an observatory during the Industrial Revolution. Address: Lookout Dr, Wilmington, DE 19806. Suggested by @michaelscalisr. 

Smith’s Bridge in North Wilmington, the longest covered bridge in Delaware which crosses over Brandywine Creek. Address: Smithbridge Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803. Recommended by @japanesejamaican76.

City Spots

Sleeping Bird Coffee: originally a coffee truck, this business is now a cute cafe in the 9th Ward Area of Wilmington. Address: 3111 Miller Rd, Wilmington, DE 19802. Recommended by @lohrnextdoor.

Trolley Square: a lively neighborhood in Wilmington with good nightlife. A special recommendation was made for Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen. Address: 1709 Delaware Ave, Wilmington, DE 19806. Recommended by @paigelippmann. 

Nature Spots

Brandywine Creek, a DE state park known for its meadowland views and blue gneiss stone walls. Address: 41 Adams Dam Rd, Wilmington, DE 19807. Recommended by @aprilkirstanmon.

Swinging Footbridge in Brandywine Park. Address: Brandywine Creek, Wilmington, DE 19801. @taylervanderwerf recommended this spot and even sent in some of her own photos of the spectacular view from the bridge!

Wilmington & Western Railroad, which opened in 1867 and still runs old-fashioned steam and diesel locomotives. Address: 2201 Newport Gap Pike, Wilmington, DE 19808. Recommended by @miss.gabzilla who also sent in a photo!
