The campaign will improve the narrative about Wilmington through grassroots stories across multiple platforms that will better define our City and solidify its reputation as a wonderful place to live, work and have fun!
Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki will be joined by Governor John Carney, City Council President Hanifa Shabazz, and neighborhood and community representatives on Friday, September 28 in Rodney Square to unveil a new, comprehensive communications and marketing campaign for Wilmington. This event was postponed from earlier this month because of the weather.
The new promotion effort will be unveiled next week in Rodney Square during the Wilmington LOVE celebration—a community celebration that will begin at 4 p.m. and run through 8 p.m. Details of the new promotion and marketing plan will be announced at approximately 5 p.m.
All Wilmington citizens are invited to the party, as are non-residents, visitors and anyone who considers themselves a supporter of the City. The event will feature nearly 50 neighborhood and community organizations, music and dance groups and other entertainment. Local food trucks will ring the square as information is shared about the new campaign and the local people and organizations that are working hard every day to make Wilmington a better City.
The campaign will promote the people of Wilmington. The multiple-year effort will tell the stories of Wilmington through narratives and videos to audiences within the City, regionally and nationally. The campaign will feature two new websites, three new YouTube channels and associated social media platforms. The content for the campaign will come from the people of Wilmington.
Please join your friends and neighbors in Rodney Square on Friday, September 28 for a party to celebrate Wilmington and its people…because it’s time, Wilmington!
