Wilmington, Del. – October 11, 2023 – The Chemours Company, a global leader in Titanium Technologies, Thermal & Specialized Solutions, and Advanced Performance Materials, is entering a new phase of leadership with the retirement of Susan Kelliher, Senior Vice President, People, effective September 30, 2023. As part of her transition plan, Mrs. Kelliher will take on the role of Strategic Advisor to the CEO, Mark Newman, starting October 1, 2023.

In her tenure, Mrs. Kelliher left an indelible mark on the company by creating a diverse workforce and an exceptional executive team. Under her guidance, Chemours introduced innovative benefits such as pay transparency, flexible work schedules, extended parental leave, wellness programs, student loan assistance, and adoption support. She spearheaded the establishment of the company’s first Diversity Council and achieved the Great Place to Work Certification™ three times in the U.S. and 14 additional regions for 2023-2024, resulting in market-leading retention rates.

Effective October 1, 2023, Ron Charles, Vice President of Talent and Culture and Human Resources Business Partner for Titanium Technologies, will step into the role of Senior Vice President, People, overseeing all aspects of the human resources function.
Mr. Charles brings over 24 years of experience in human resources, manufacturing, and labor relations, with more than 18 years in the chemical industry. During his six-year tenure at Chemours, he played key roles in HR leadership assignments and transformative business initiatives, including acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Charles’s expertise in labor relations and workforce management has enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of Chemours plant sites.
Mark Newman commended Mr. Charles, stating, “Ron is a trusted advisor who possesses extensive experience in strategically managing HR, particularly in a dynamic company like Chemours. His background in manufacturing and labor relations will provide invaluable insights as we aim to optimize the performance of our plant sites, which constitute 75% of our workforce. Ron’s unique perspective and problem-solving abilities are vital to our continued success.”
This leadership transition marks a pivotal moment for Chemours as it focuses on its five strategic priorities. Mark Newman expressed confidence in the executive team’s ability to lead the company into its next chapter.
