Since its beginning in 1961, the Brandywine Festival of The Arts in Wilmington, DE has been a home for artists, sculptors, and makers of all kinds. Now, as we observe their 60th year, we get to celebrate one of the many things that make this city so exciting: our incredible arts scene!

Those who attend this year’s festival can expect:

  • Children’s activities
  • Music
  • A food court (including beer and wine options)
  • Pet adoption opportunities
Sandy Askey-Adams, this year’s featured artist painting a landscape.

“The festival offers a great opportunity to fill your home – or your yard or your jewelry box – with a tremendous selection of original art,” says Barry Schlecker, proprietor of Barry’s Events and producer of the festival since 2010. “And our two-day admission policy means you can browse on Saturday and come back Sunday to make your final selections, all for one low price.”

The festival will take place Saturday, September 11 from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday, September 12th from 10 AM to 4 PM in Brandywine Park. Tickets are $5. Children under 12 may attend free of charge, but must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs on leash are always welcome. For more information, check out the festival website.
