Summarised from the op-ed titled “Don’t listen to the haters. Wilmington has so many positive stories to tell.” featured on Delaware Online.

I say “Amen” to Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki’s new campaign to support the people of Wilmington. This town is full of positive people working to make our beautiful community even better every single day.

Of course there will be naysayers. Haters gonna hate.

For far too long, this town seems to focus only on the negative and miss everything that makes this one of the most awesome small cities in America. We are leaders in jobs, affordability, diversity, and opportunity. And we ought to be proud of that.

Thank you to the mayor and the community leaders who have come together to put resources at the disposal of those of us working to build up this town to tell our story.

The city is a supportive and tax-friendly place for entrepreneurs to launch businesses. In fact, it was just ranked the 17th best small town to start a business by Verizon.

No town achieves greatness with a defeatist attitude. We must celebrate what’s great, be happy and work together to build an even better tomorrow.

Thank you to Mayor Purzycki and all the generous donors who love Wilmington as much as I do and want to help tell the story of what makes us uniquely special. It’s time.
