Water. It is a vital resource for any living thing, from the food we eat, to what we drink. Did you know your water can affect the quality and taste of your food and our favorite drinks like beer and wine? The people over at Wilmington Beer Works know that clean, pure water is vital for making the perfect brew. This reason is why they chose to move into the 9th Ward in Wilmington.
Science Makes Great Beer
So what makes the water so good? Chemistry. Some towns have additional chemicals running through the water. Some purposeful to keep it clean, others are from old pipes and materials in the soil, amongst other things. Wilmington doesn’t have that issue. The term most people come to know is “soft” water. It barely has any additives, making it perfect and easy to clean and manipulate. Hardwater, however, leaves mineral deposits that can be the perfect environment to grow bacteria.
Support For Clean Water
Clean water is a vital part of economic growth. It is important for our health, the local ecosystem, and wildlife. For many it is so vital that 50 stakeholders from the business, conservation, academic and nonprofit communities have come together in the Clean Water: Delaware’s Clear Choice campaign to support a dedicated funding stream for clean water projects in Delaware.
Without the clean water, we would seen a decline in tourism, economic growth and a decline in our health.
