The Mill Expands: New Indoor and Outdoor Spaces in Downtown Wilmington, DE

The Mill, located at Market West, 221 W Tenth Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, has recently completed a significant expansion of its flagship coworking space. This expansion, totaling 38,000 square feet, solidifies The Mill’s position as one of the largest coworking spaces in the Greater Philadelphia market. With this addition, Market West now boasts a total of 104,700 square feet of coworking space, making it one of the largest traditional coworking spaces in the Philadelphia region.

The expansion project was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on February 13th, attended by elected officials, project partners, and members. Notable speakers included Governor John Carney, New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer, City of Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki, Rob Herrera (Founder of The Mill), and Chris Buccini (Founder of Buccini Pollin Group), among others. The third-floor expansion introduces over 30 furnished offices of varying sizes, ranging from individual workspaces to a 5,500 square foot suite. Additionally, new amenities cater to the evolving needs of the workforce, including outdoor terraces, a podcasting suite in partnership with Studio Charter, and wellness spaces such as treadmill and maternity suites. Community spaces offer recreational activities like shuffleboard, foosball, and cornhole, along with a multi-purpose party room. A glass interior stairwell now connects the third and fourth floors, enhancing accessibility for members.

Since its inception in April 2016 with 13,000 square feet on the fourth floor, The Mill has expanded its presence, managing the 221-seat auditorium at Theater N and opening a second location at The Concord in January 2020. Plans for further expansion include a new location in Seaford, Delaware, at The Nylon Capital Center by 2025.
