3 College Students started WilmInvest to reshape the social image of Wilmington.

WilmInvest’s team comprised of University of Delaware students Joel Amin and Bryce Fender, and Demetrius Thorn from the University of Pennsylvania, describe WilmInvest as Social Impact Real Estate Investing. This type of investing is designed to:

  • Acquire real estate assets below market value or foreclosed state
  • Renovate and tailor the property to the needs of each business or organization
  • Generate consistent cash flows from these properties by securing leases or rental agreements
  • Maintain assets and generate value via market appreciation and renovation

They believe by renovating and managing these properties, will lead to fostering communal engagement, improving quality of life its citizens and ultimately reshape the image of Wilmington.

They have already received recognition, winning the $1,000 main prize at a youth entrepreneurship competition sponsored by the UD Horn Program in Entrepreneurship and were semifinalist for Hen Hatch 2017, a startup funding competition that was held at the Queen Theatre.
