Celebrate 2019 and the start of a new decade this New Years eve with Wilmington’s official fireworks show!
Mayor Mike Purzycki and the Executive Director of the Riverfront Development Corporation (RDC), Megan McGlinchey, announced the City and the RDC will be once again presenting Wilmington’s official New Years Eve celebration.
The event will take place on the Christiana Riverfront, and will include the 4th annual Family Fun Night that combines a variety of food, drinks, and music with the fireworks show.
Another popular family tradition is to attend the Horizon Services Riverfront Rink to enjoy the festivities. The rink will be offering multiple skating sessions, including one during the fireworks, and will be serving hot chocolate throughout the night. Not only that, but this year the rink will be hosting a live ice-sculpting demonstration that will take place from 6 to 8, and will encourage guests to view and take pictures of the artwork.
Another place to enjoy the show is the Constitution Yards Beer Garden, which will have plenty of food and drinks available.
The event filled night will culminate with a fireworks show beginning at 9 p.m., which will be taking place over the same location as the previous 4th of July and New Years events.
If you haven’t participated in any of Wilmington’s fireworks events before, make sure to come check it out! There are many great viewing places along the riverfront, but the Riverfront Rink is set to be the main viewing location.
Happy New Years!
