Halloween may look a bit different this year, but Wilmington is doing their best to adjust! Old traditions are being safety proofed, and new traditions are being started. We’re highlighting some family-friendly events that are still happening. All events have outlined their specific safety regulations, but remember to bring your face mask, hand sanitizer, and the Halloween spirit if you go!
Trick or Treat in Tilton Park: Hosted by West Side Grows, Trick or Treat in Tilton Park is an alternative Halloween celebration! Bring your MASK and your best costume to the park for an afternoon of crafts, treats, and fun. Be sure to stop by, It’s Time will be there doing Facebook live interviews with the folks from West Side Grows!
Boo at the Zoo: Though this event is currently sold out, Brandywine Zoo is hosting their annual Boo at the Zoo event, allowing kids to do some trick or treating with the animals! The Grand Cinema at Bellevue State Park: Who would have thought that in 2020 Drive-Ins would become popular again? There are multiple spooky flicks to catch Halloween weekend! Grab your tickets for Little Shop of Horrors on Friday, Oct. 30, or Nightmare Before Christmas and Halloween (1978) on Oct. 31!
Outdoor Paranormal Investigation of Rockwood Park: Embark on an exciting new outdoor paranormal investigation of Rockwood Park. This is a rare opportunity to find out what ghostly activity may be going on outside the walls of the famously haunted mansion. First State Halloween Flea: Taking place at Frawley Stadium, Come in costume for fun, prizes, and flea! Vote for the best-dressed Vendor and tent! Bring the kiddies in costume for Vendor Trick or Treating.
Halloween at Nemours Estate: All dressed up and nowhere to go? Don’t let your costume go to waste—show it off at Nemours Estate! Explore the magical grounds as seen like never before. The Gardeners have been casting spells to get the plants and trees dressed up for the day! It will be a hauntingly good time with socially-distanced games that encourage young visitors to explore, imagine, and play pretend.
Halloween at Hagley: Looking for a safe place to trick or treat this Halloween? Head to Hagley for a triple treat with three spooktacular activities in one. Children are invited to come in costume to visit treat stations throughout the property.
