A new bar and expanding capacity downstairs aims to draw larger acts to Wilmington.

Live Nation Entertainment recently took over operations of the iconic Queen Theater, and workers have already begun to transform the gift shop area behind the World Cafe Live’s old box office. It will soon become a bar, which will be open to all, whether you have tickets to the show or not. A wraparound sidewalk patio that opens into the building via retractable windows is also in the works.

The Queen’s concert calendar just got a bit more full.

Expect a wider variety of shows too with pop/punk, hip-hop, country, R&B and other genres added to what has been a folk and rock heavy line-up in the past.
