Innovincent, a Wilmington based consulting firm that specializes in helping nonprofits with strategic planning and fundraising, raised over $23,000 through the Third Annual Delaware Charity Challenge spring fundraising contest and athletic games.

The event took place on May 6, 2017 at Lums Pond State Park in Bear, Delaware. Fifteen teams participated, representing twelve different charities.

The Delaware Charity Challenge is a unique series of fundraising and athletic competitions designed to give organizations, families, and individuals a fun way to raise money and awareness for their favorite causes.

In the Spring 2017 Race to Raise fundraising competition (January 1 to May 5), Team Veritext Legal Solutions took home top honors again this year, raising a record $11,325 for the Ministry of Caring, including a $300 bonus prize for raising the most money. Team End Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy finished second, raising $2,966 for Muscular Dystrophy Association, including $300 in prize money related to the fundraising contest and the Adventure Challenge Relay competition. Team OperaDelaware raised $2,076 and finished third, including a $100 prize for raising the third most amount of money in the Race to Raise.

The official nonprofit team fundraising competition was won by Team Friends of Wilmington Parks ($3,779 between its official team and the Bank of New York Mellon (BNYM) team that designated Friends of Wilmington Parks as its beneficiary. Team OperaDelaware finished second in the nonprofit fundraising competition division with $2,076 raised. Both Friends of Wilmington Parks and OperaDelaware won advertising packages from the Wilmington Blue Rocks for having raised the most money of any official nonprofit team.

“As we announced earlier this spring, over five Delaware Charity Challenges (including the one this weekend), our participants have collectively raised more than $113,000 for 50 different nonprofit organizations,” says Charlie Vincent, president of Innovincent LLC, the company behind the Delaware Charity Challenge. “Our competitions continue to grow and we look forward to expanding the competition to Kent and Sussex County next month, to the First State Duathlon in July, and at the indoor triathlon in January.”

The next Delaware Charity Challenge competition of 2017 take place on Saturday, June 24 at Killens Pond State Park in Felton. Teams can also raise money through the Delaware Charity Challenge as part of the First State Duathlon, an 11 mile trail duathlon, which will be held on Saturday, July 15 at Bellevue State Park in Wilmington. The First State Duathlon will be the official Summer Competition for the Delaware Charity Challenge. The 2018 Delaware Charity Challenge kicks off on Saturday, January 6, with the 3rd Annual Winter Run, Row, Bike Indoor Triathlon at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington, followed by the 4th Annual Spring Games at Lums Pond on Saturday, May 5.
