Please join us for an upcoming special event at the Brandywine Zoo!

All events are free with your paid admission to the zoo unless otherwise indicated.
July

Saturday, July 9, 10am – 12pm

Is your stuffed animal under the weather? Teddy feeling a bit blue? Bring your favorite stuffed animal, or adopt one from the gift shop, to get a checkup with our Zoo Veterinarian. Stuffed animals might get their vitals checked, bandaged or given ‘medicine’ to make sure they have a clean bill of health before heading home with you!

Wednesday, July 13, 6pm – 8pm

Family Fun Night

Special evening hours hosted by WSTW 93.7 FM. Meet radio personalities and enjoy special games, activities, and of course, live animals!

Fee: $1 admission for everyone. $1 hot dogs and soft drinks, too! Free parking. Rain date Thursday, July 14.

Friday, July 29, 10am – 3:30pm

International Tiger Day

Celebrate International Tiger Day with our Amur tiger Zhanna! The goal is to promote a global protection of tiger habitats as well as raise public awareness and support for tiger conservation issues. Stop by a learning station, talk with a zoo volunteer, or join us for a special tiger-focused keeper talk to learn what YOU can do to help!


August

Saturday, August 6, 8:45am – 10am

Breakfast with the Beasts

Join us for a pancake breakfast in the zoo before it opens to the public. Breakfast will be provided by Janssen’s Market and ShopRite. Enjoy your breakfast as the animals get theirs, as well as a special story and a live animal presentation. Pre-registration required, as space is extremely limited
Members: $12/person | Non-Members: $15/person

Thursday, August 11, 6pm – 8pm

Family Fun Night

Zippity Zoo Days: Celebrating Vulture Awareness

Enjoy a special weekend at the Zoo during the Brandywine Festival of Arts as we celebrate International Vulture Awareness Day, the arts festival way! Special learning stations and keeper talks this weekend will focus on vultures and condors. PLUS enjoy some special artwork created by our animal artists.
Members: Free | Non-Members: $1/person

Saturday, September 17, 10am – 1pm

International Red Panda Day

Become a Red Panda Ranger! A Red Panda Ranger is a special title given to a child who has learned about red pandas and is ready to spread the word about the importance of conservation. Join us in the zoo today to learn about Red Pandas, submit art for our Red Panda Art Contest and even earn your ‘Red Panda Ranger’ badge!

Friday, September 30, 5:30pm – 9pm

Brew at the Zoo, and Wine Too! (Ages 21+)

Visit the zoo after hours for this fun, outdoor event which includes tastings of beer and wine in a keepsake souvenir cup from local breweries. Light fare provided by Wilmington restaurants including: Chelsea Tavern, Ernest & Scott, Kid Shelleens, Santa Fe, Two Stones Pub, Ulysses Gastropub, and more! Plus, a variety of unique items are available under our Silent Auction tent with proceeds benefiting the Zoo. Brew t-shirts are available for purchase and the gift shop is open for shopping! Pre-Sale recommended, as tickets will sell fast. Must be 21 or older to attend. Rain or shine.

Members: $35 | Non-Members: $45 | At the Door: $50 | Designated Driver: $30

October

Friday, October 21 & Saturday, October 22, 5pm – 7pm

Boo at the Zoo

Trick-or-Treat at the Brandywine Zoo! Celebrate Halloween Brandywine Zoo-style with this merry, not scary, event. Kids can trick-or-treat through the zoo as it gets dark in their Halloween costumes!

Members: Free | Non-Members: $5 ages 3 & up

November

Saturday, November 5, 4pm – 6pm

Scout Day at the Brandywine Zoo

Enjoy an exclusive after-hours program specially designed for scouts and their families! There will be games, live animal demonstrations, and activities all geared toward scout requirements. Brandywine Zoo patches will be available for purchase. This is an outdoor event so please dress for the weather. Pre-registration strongly suggested, walk-ins welcome if space available. Registration deadline is November 2. To register, CLICK HERE.

Fee: $10/person (includes scouts, parents, siblings, and additional leaders). One leader free for every 15 scouts registered.


December

Saturday, December 10 & Sunday, December 11, 9am – 10am

Breakfast with Santa

Everyone knows Santa loves reindeer but many don’t know how much he loves the Brandywine Zoo animals. This breakfast event is extra special because you’ll get to dine with Santa! A hot pancake breakfast and buffet will be served, brought to you by Janssen’s Market and Duck Donuts. Share your holiday wishes with Santa, bring your camera to take photos with him and some animal friends, make decorations and enjoy a few up-close animal encounters all before the zoo opens. Finish the morning by strolling through the zoo at your leisure to watch our zoo keepers work and see the animals eating their breakfast! Pre-registration required, as space is extremely limited; so register early!

Milk and Cookies with Santa

Change your name from “naughty” to “nice” before it’s too late, and have some Milk and Cookies with Santa! Don your reindeer ears, bring your wish list and snap a pic with Santa! Don’t forget your holiday cheer… Bring your camera! Space is limited, so register early!

Members: $10/person | Non-Members: $13/person

Saturday, December 31, 11am – 12:15pm

Noon Year’s Eve

Celebrate the New Year Zoo-style by ringing in the New Year at NOON! We’ll have games, crafts, and a celebratory atmosphere and of course a sparkling cider toast as the clock strikes 12 (Noon that is!). Program takes place in the zoo so dress for the weather! (Program fees will begin charging at Admission Gates starting at 10am)
