Tapp Social Summit Brings Pop-Up Art Display to Tatnall Square

Wilmington, DE: Two Downtown Wilmington-based businesses are partnering with a local artist on a large-scale, temporary art installation intended to drive community dialogue and bring regional attention to innovation Wilmington. TAPP Network LLC and CULTURA. co-sponsored this installation in an effort to creatively promote blending technological tools with a human-centered design. Both companies share the goal of helping to increase the collective impact of business, non-profit, and government on the people they serve.

Hockessin-based artist, Trissa Hill, was commissioned to create forty unique 35”x35” abstract prints, using marbled paint and clay tablets to screen-print onto a high tech industrial material called Reemay. Hill’s body of work playfully balances old materials (clay) with new (Reemay), and it is well-regarded for how well it serves to drive conversation – both being central themes of this installation.

The prints are wrapped and stretched along vertical surfaces within Tatnall Square between the Nemours and Brandywine buildings, creating an “art explosion” effect. Hill collaborated with artist and RH Gallery owner, Rick Hidalgo, to install the prints. In addition to the abstract prints, blank white Reemay squares will be strategically placed throughout the square for the public to add to the installation with chalk at two scheduled events being held during the two-weeks it is up.

“Wilmington is fast becoming a leading hub to work, create and innovate. The pop-up art installation is a celebration of the City’s growth and thriving downtown community,” states Joseph DiGiovanni, Co-Founder of Tapp Network.
