St. Patrick’s Day in Wilmington, DE!

St. Patrick’s Day is an important day for many Wilmingtonians: it’s an intimate celebration of Irish heritage, a testament to good luck and fortune, and a special occasion to connect with family and friends… it’s also an awesome excuse to party (safely)! We’ve rounded up a list of the best places to spend St. Patrick’s Day in Wilmington, DE!

1.) Catherine Rooney’s – Rooney’s is nearly synonymous with St. Patrick’s celebrations. They’ll be open at 50% capacity for indoor and outdoor dining, drinks, and debauchery. It’ll be as COVID-safe as it is fun!

2.) Kelly’s Logan House – The oldest continuous family-owned Irish bar in the US (since 1864!), Logan House is equally prepared to serve up a great and safe time on the 17th. Their St. Patrick’s celebration has been the talk of the town for 150 years, and this year should be no different!

3.) Dead Presidents – This nationally-ranked bar is going all in for St. Paddy’s. They’ll have a special Irish menu, Irish dancers, live music, and new outdoor tent seating, all at a 50% capacity. We highly recommend stopping by!

4.) Stitch House – Stitch House is celebrating St. Paddy’s alongside its three year anniversary! This brewery located right on Market is offering a special Irish food specials menu, as well as its already-delicious selection of homemade beers.

5.) Maker’s Alley – This quirky spot is known for its comfy outdoor seating, unique vibe, and great selection of beers. You can’t go wrong with choosing this classic beer garden for your St. Patrick’s Night.

6.) Bar XIII – Bar XIII promises a crazy-fun night out for all who come. They have live events going on every night this week, but are hosting a Comedy Night Open Mic on the 17th. It’s free, so come in and grab a laugh and a drink (and maybe get up on stage!).

7.) Murph’s – If you’re looking for a cozy, traditional neighborhood Irish pub, look no further than Murph’s. This place has a reputation for great bar food and a nice selection of beers. Truly a classic!

8.) McLaren’s – This Irish pub always celebrates holidays well, and we’re expecting St. Paddy’s to be no exception. It’s a great place to kick back with a beer and play some pool with friends, all with great prices and a friendly atmosphere.

9.) Wilmington Brew Works – WBW went all out on creating their own brand-new beer especially for St. Patrick’s! Bricfeasta Indiscretion is an Irish Oatmeal Stout that’s promising to be exceptionally tasty. They also open at noon on St. Paddy’s, so come hang out all day!

10.) Docklands Riverfront – Need a place to chill out after a week of partying and craziness? Docklands is a great spot to grab a great meal and a drink along with some live music on Friday and Saturday night. A fantastic Riverfront spot to close out your St. Patrick’s Week.

11.) St. Patrick’s Day Society Stew Thru – Alternatively, from 4-7pm on St. Patrick’s Day, the St. Patrick’s Day Society will be preparing full dinners served by Governor Carney and Mayor Purzycki. Tickets are $50 per meal and proceeds will directly benefit over 1500 families in need on Wilmington’s East Side. 

In addition, Delaware Ave will be closed from Clayton Street to Scott Street until Thursday to allow for pedestrian access.
