Summer is the perfect time to cleanse your space, but what do you do with all that stuff? If you donate and thrift, it’s the perfect way to contribute to a sustainable community while helping others. Check out our list to see where you can donate in Wilmington–and maybe even find something for yourself! 

A Ministry of Sunday Breakfast Mission – Urban Vintage – Urban Vintage is a thrift store that provides low cost and free items such as clothing, household goods, and furniture, to the homeless, impoverished, and local public in the Wilmington community. Whether you donate or buy, you are helping to support the mission! Their address is 500 W. 2nd St. Wilmington, DE 19801

Chester Bethel Thrift Shop – Chester Bethel Thrift Shop supports a plethora of charities. Although you’ll have to wait to do any shopping until they reopen in September, you can still donate on Mondays or Wednesdays from 9-11am at 2615 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.

Prime Thrift – Prime Thrift has a Wilmington, DE location at 2004 West Newport Pike. Shop, or you can also check out their website and donate to support their affiliated charities: American Veterans (Amvets) and Disabled American Veterans (DAV). 

Women’s clothing sold at Great Stuff Resale

Great Stuff Resale – Profits from Great Stuff Resale, a primarily women’s secondhand clothing store, benefit the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. You can also check out their website to see donation guidelines for this summer! Their address is 3619-A Silverside Rd. Wilmington, DE 19810.

Salvation ArmyThe Wilmington Family Store and Adult Rehabilitation Center describes its greatest need to be new and gently used clothing. Check out the website to see further information about how to donate; their address is 107 S. Market St., Wilmington, Delaware 19801.

Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County – Goodwill has two locations in Wilmington: 300 E Lea Blvd & 4317 Kirkwood Highway. You can shop for clothes and homegoods, or donate those items yourself. They also do donation pickup!

Greendrop Wilmington, DE –  Greendrop works with just donations, you can either drop off or schedule a pick up so you never even have to leave the house! They collect on behalf of nonprofit partners like the American Red Cross and the Purple Heart Foundation for whom they also fundraise. Their Wilmington drop-off location is at 2308 Concord Pike.

Faithful Friends Animal Society – Help your furry friends by checking out the Faithful Friends Animal Society’s various wish lists to see if you have anything they could use. Extra clean sheets, towels, and pillowcases are some useful examples. Donations are welcome everyday and are also contactless. Their Wilmington location is at 12 Germay Dr

Wilmington Delaware Food Pantries, Food Banks, Soup Kitchens – If you’re realizing you have too much food in your pantry or you’re maybe in the spirit to do a food drive, this is the best site to check out to see where and what to donate in Wilmington.
