We are excited to share that three Delaware schools, including two from Wilmington, have been honored with a prestigious national award. They received the National Blue Ribbon honors, an award given out to only 362 schools nationwide.
They were honored based on their overall academic achievement and progress toward meeting academic goals and closing achievement gaps.
Delaware schools that made the list include Charter School of Wilmington, Delaware Military Academy and West Park Place Elementary School. All three schools will be attending a ceremony in Washington, DC on November 14 and 15.
Since 1982, the U. S. Department of Education has sought out and celebrated great American schools. The National Blue Ribbon School award is meant to affirm the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content.
Congratulations to the Delaware winners, great job representing our state and city!
