Wilmington Restaurant “Dorcea” Opens Amid Pandemic

Wilmington is excited to see its restaurant businesses continue to grow with the opening of a new American grill, Dorcea. Located at the site of the former Domaine Hudson at 1314 Washington St. in Wilmington, Dorcea has been offering takeout since April 9.

Dine-in service has been restricted in Delaware since March 16 due to the coronavirus. It has not yet been determined when restaurants will be allowed to fully reopen.

Owner Tony Bomba purchased the property in early December with his business partner John Ratliff. Bobma’s brother Michael is also involved in the operation. They began to remodel the space in January, making it a more casual eatery than the previous tenants. The initial plan was to open Dorcea in early March, but the pandemic changed everything.

Earlier this month, they decided “the heck with it,” and quietly opened the doors and began takeout. Bomba said it is an approach that’s similar to a restaurant “soft opening,” — an opening that showcases a new restaurant to a limited group of people.

Dorcea is currently serving about ⅓ of their anticipated full menu, as well as to-go wine, beer, and cocktails.  You can see their current offerings here

Takeout and curbside delivery are available from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Saturday. They are closed Sunday and Monday.
