SmallBiz Spotlight: Why Fly Internet

Updated January 3, 2017

Tired of two bad options when it comes to internet service? Mike Palita and Mark Thompson decided to change that.

The cofounders of Wilmington-based internet service provider WhyFly, decided to disrupt the current duopoly by taking a fresh approach to a heavily stagnated space dominated by telecom giants that are synonymous with poor customer service experiences.

WhyFly is built on the premise that there is a better way to bring internet to businesses and homes. While the telecoms and cable companies focus on getting more revenue with less service for more money, they focus on bringing the value that you need, with faster speeds to securely compete with success and ease.

The Mill Space based startup provided the high speed internet for the inaugural Open Bracket challenge. Delaware’s first ever software coding competition, which attracted 100 participants and nearly 3,000 applications, with the goal of retaining talented software engineers.

Now more than 10,000 Wilmington residents have a better internet choice.
