Mayor Mike Purzycki congratulated the Riverfront Development Corporation on a new holiday feature to brighten up the Riverwalk!
During the holiday season, the Riverfront is one of the most beautiful pieces of the city. The introduction of Riverbright Wilmington, a full lighting of the Riverwalk, will dramatically increase the feeling of the holiday season.
Beginning November 25th, the Christina Riverwalk will be transformed into a walk-through light display. Holiday lights, décor, and themed events will fill the streets. The Holiday Magic iteration of Riverbright Wilmington is just one of the changing seasonal displays. The RDC will begin a project to light underpasses along the Amtrak bridges from Riverfront Wilmington to Downtown in the Spring of 2023.
RDC Executive Director Megan McGlinchey announced, “The RDC is thrilled to launch this dazzling new attraction at the Riverfront during the holiday season. The illumination of the Riverwalk will create a magical winter wonderland for all ages to enjoy…coupled with the many special events that are also planned, we know that guests from around the region will make Holiday Magic at Riverbright Wilmington the can’t miss holiday destination!”
Riverbright Wilmington, Holiday Magic, is sponsored in part by the Delaware Tourism Office, Capano Residential, EDiS, RK&K, Big Fish Restaurant Group, Chase, and Mercury Financial.
