GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR DELAWARE ARTS & COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND SCHOOLS ARE NOW OPEN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024

The annual online application process for Delaware Division of the Arts’ grants for arts programming and projects for the year 2024 has opened. Applications are due by 4:30 pm on Tuesday, March 1st through smARTDE

The guidelines for grant programs are available here. Past and new applicants should read the guidelines before submitting applications.

Provided is a list of the grant programs and respective guidelines. Some grants are available for rolling applications throughout the year. Organizational grant applications require a Unique Equity Identifier (UEI). Read more about obtaining a UEI here.

Grants for Delaware Arts Organizations

  • General Operating Support (GOS)– This grant category uses a three-year application cycle. The funds support operating expenses to ensure participation in the arts is available. Full applications are due every three years, while Interim Applications are due in “off” years. March 1 deadline.
  • Arts Stabilization Fund (ASF)– ASF Grants are funded through the Division’s participation in the Arts Consortium of Delaware, Inc. (ArtCo) endowment. The funds support the improvement of facilities owned and operated by the organization. March 1 deadline.
  • Education Resource (EDR)– These grants support standards-based arts education programs, projects, and activities that utilize resources of the Delaware arts community or strengthen organizations’ ability to serve as professional development resources. March 1 deadline. 
  • StartUp– Funds, training, and consulting to develop the management capacity of emerging arts organizations. Completion of the StartUp program is a prerequisite for emerging organizations seeking General Operating Support. Letter of intent due Jan 15. If LOI is accepted, March 1 deadline.
  • Arts Access– Up to $1,000 of support for the presentation of performing, visual, literary, media, or folk art throughout the State. Rolling deadline. 

Grants for Delaware Community-Based Organizations (CBOs):

  • Project Support– Supporting arts programs provided by CBOs that aid in the growth of a vibrant cultural environment through encouraging development of the arts activities in communities throughout the state. March 1 deadline.
  • Arts Access– Up to $1,000 of support for the presentation of performing, visual, literary, media, or folk art throughout the State. Rolling deadline. 

Grants for Delaware Schools and School Districts:

  • Artist Residency– Grants for residencies with performing, literary, visual, or media artists who work with students in the classroom or in a professional development workshop. Rolling deadline.
  • Education Resource (EDR)- These grants support standards-based arts education programs, projects, and activities that utilize resources of the Delaware arts community or strengthen organizations’ ability to serve as professional development resources. March 1 deadline. 
  • TranspARTation– Grants for transportation costs up to $500 per field trip for schools to travel to Delaware arts and cultural institutions for students to attend performances, events, and exhibits. Rolling deadline.

Grants for Delaware Individual Artists:

  • Artist Fellowship– Supporting individual artists in their work as visual, media, performing, folk, and literary artists. The smARTDE Instructions provides information about how to log in and navigate the system. Applications open Spring 2023. August 1 deadline.
  • Artist Opportunity Grant– Up to a $1,000 grant in support of individual artists with unique artistic development and professional opportunities. Quarterly deadlines.
