December 28, 2022 ChristianaCare was awarded a 2.4 million grant by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to grow and expand Delawares’s health care workforce and community. The grant will go towards ChristianaCare’s Institute for Learning, Leadership, and Development. It will help expand and enhance medical education in the state of Delaware, and grow and strengthen the workforce. The new funding will provide more primary health care, medical assistants and other roles to areas in need. It will also fund training for psychologists and psychiatrists.

The funding is from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 that President Joe Biden signed into law to help speed up the nation’s recovery from the economic and health decline COVID-19 brought on. This award is addressing health care/medical issues and allows more opportunities for citizens to receive the medical help they need.

ChristianaCare is nationally recognized by Forbes as a great place to work. They were ranked #2 in the best health care organizations, improving health, and making high quality health care more accessible.
