Celebrate the 4th of July in Wilmington, Delaware!

Looking for something fun to do on the 4th of July? Here’s our guide to enjoying the 4th in the greater Wilmington area.

1. 4th of July Celebration at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park – Family festivities, delicious food, games, entertainment and best of all…fireworks! Come celebrate at the annual 4th of July Celebration sponsored by CityFest with your family and friends at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park from 2 – 9pm!

2. Wilmington and Western Railroad’s Firework Express – Sit back, relax and take a train to see the fireworks on July 2nd! Hop onto an antique steam locomotive and bring a blanket, chairs and cooler to enjoy the fireworks light up the sky! Get your tickets by clicking here!

3. Kalmar Nyckel free deck tours – If you’ve ever wanted to climb aboard the Kalmar Nyckel, here is your chance to do it for free! Get a free deck tour this 4th of July at Dravo Plaza on the Wilmington Riverfront! Click here for more information and check out their Instagram!

Fireworks

Fireworks are a 4th of July staple, so here are a few places you can catch them this holiday weekend!

1. Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park – After the 4th of July celebration at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront park along the Christiana River check out the fireworks on July 4th at dusk! Click here for more information.

2. Blue Rocks game vs. Rome Braves – After watching the Blue Rocks baseball game stay for the fireworks on July 2nd and 3rd at Frawley Stadium! Click here for more information.

3. Dupont Country Club – On July 4th at dusk check out the fireworks at Dupont Country Club at 1001 Rockland Road! Click here for more information. 

4. Hockessin, Delaware – Don’t miss these fireworks on July 2nd at Dusk at the Swift Park, Piedmont Baseball Fields, Hockessin Library and Artesian Soccer Fields! Click here for more information. 

5. University of Delaware Athletic Complex– Head over to 625 Marvin Drive to watch fireworks on July 2nd at dusk (rain date July 5th). Click here for more information.
