In a momentous occasion marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, November 9, Mayor Mike Purzycki and the New Castle Chamber of Commerce proudly announced the opening of GOLO’s new 80,000-square-foot distribution facility on South Heald Street in Wilmington. The Delaware-based health and wellness solutions company’s expansion is not only anticipated to bring 50 new jobs to the city but also signifies a commitment to community involvement and addressing food insecurity.

Mayor Purzycki expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome the GOLO staff and management to Wilmington along with the new jobs coming to our community. More than ever, our economic success relies on innovative businesses and entrepreneurs who are willing to take calculated risks to be successful, something that we see all across Wilmington. Thank you, GOLO, not only for believing in and investing in our City but for your spirit of community involvement and giving back to our residents and neighborhoods. We all wish you much success here.”

GOLO’s Expanded Facility and Product Range

The newly renovated facility is set to distribute a range of GOLO products, including weight loss solutions, wellness supplements, exercise equipment, and a recently launched line of frozen, nutritionally balanced meals. Additionally, the warehouse boasts one of the largest dry-ice production lines in the Mid-Atlantic region, reflecting GOLO’s commitment to efficient and sustainable operations. The company anticipates that this expansion will generate employment opportunities for 50 local workers, contributing to the economic growth of the region.

Chris Lundin, CEO and Founder of GOLO, shared his excitement, stating, “This is an exciting moment for our company and reflects our continued growth. We are also pleased about this opportunity to bring additional well-paying jobs to the state, and we want to thank Mayor Mike Purzycki and his administration for their support.”

Charitable Giving Initiative to Combat Food Insecurity

In conjunction with the facility’s grand opening, GOLO introduced a charitable initiative aimed at fighting food insecurity in Delaware. The company pledged to donate 100,000 nutritious meals to local food banks, food pantries, and community-based organizations over the next year. This unique food donation program, initiated in the fall, focuses on providing access to healthy and nutritionally balanced meals from GOLO’s Foods line of products to those in need.

Jennifer Brooks, President of GOLO, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “We look forward to working with our local partners to help increase access to healthy and nutritious meals for people and communities in need. This important initiative is an extension of our commitment to supporting the local community in Delaware.”

Community Partnerships and Recipients

Organizations set to benefit from GOLO’s food donations include the Food Bank of Delaware, Sunday Breakfast Mission, Delaware Regional Dream Center, Warriors Helping Warriors, and the Police Athletic League of Wilmington. Moreover, the initiative plans to expand its reach to cover additional community partners across New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties.
