It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That means the cherished holiday tradition, Light Up the Square, returns to Rodney Square on Tuesday, December 3rd, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at 10th and Market Streets.

Mayor Mike Purzycki and Cultural Affairs Director Tina Betz invite you to Downtown Wilmington for this popular tree-lighting tradition! Sing traditional holiday songs with live performances by host Martin Hargrove, Gateway Charter School Chorus, Disney Princesses Elsa and Ariel, and more. Meet Santa Claus, Rudolph, and other winter characters from All That Shimmers, and enjoy free food for children, hot chocolate, face painting, and this year, the It’s Time team will be there, under the tent, handing out free gifts! Make sure you come and say  hello!

Before you head to the tree-lighting, attend DE.CO’s pre-party, which starts at 4:30 p.m.! Located at 111 West 10th Street, it will feature drink specials and Christmas Music. They will also host an after-party until 9 p.m.

Light Up the Square is brought to you by Cityfest, Inc., Downtown Visions, Spark’d Creative Pastry, and DE.CO Food Hall. For more information, please contact Lattisha (Tish) Williams at lcwilliams@wilmingtonde.gov.
