It’s Delaware Primary Day!

If you did not request an absentee ballot or vote by mail in the primaries, today is the day to get to the polls! Polling places opened at 7am this morning, and will be open until 8pm. If you are unsure of where your polling place is, you can find out by entering your address here
Wilmington Residents voting in Delaware’s state primary will see candidates for the following offices on their ballot: 

  •  US Senator 
  • Representative in Congress 
  • Governor 
  • Insurance Commissioner 
  • State Senators in Districts 1, 5 & 13 * 
  • State Representatives in Districts 4 & 7*
  • New Castle Clerk of the Peace
  • New Castles County President of County Council
  • New Castle County Executive
  • City of Wilmington- Mayor
  • Wilmington President of City Council
  • Wilmington City Treasurer
  • Wilmington City Council Member At Large
  • Wilmington City Council Member in Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8*

*Ballots will vary depending upon the district you live in
Only registered democrats and republicans are allowed to participate in today’s primaries, and will only vote on their parties’ ballot. For a complete list of all candidates, and links to their candidacy websites, click here
If you are heading to the polls today, be sure to bring along a form of ID ( a Delaware Drivers License or State ID, US Passport, Signed Vehicle Registration etc.) your face covering, and hand sanitizer along with you to ensure you are able to cast your ballot efficiently and safely. 
The next election day to note is the general election, taking place on November 3, 2020. If you are not currently registered to vote, you can do so here, and if you’d like to request a ballot by mail you can go here. The final day to register for the general election is October 10, 2020.
