More than 1,000 of Millenials, individuals aged 22 up to 35, from dozens of local and national organizations are expected to convene at the Chase Center in Wilmington for the third annual Millennial Summit.

The Millennial Summit is an interdisciplinary conference for young professionals, rising stars, innovators, and industry leaders in the Mid-Atlantic area. The goal is to provide the opportunity for people to connect and grow. Attendees who attend will hear from more than 100 unique speakers a day as they lead discussions in the areas of leadership, finance, advocacy, nonprofits, health and wellness, the arts, and entrepreneurship.

Wednesday, August 7 will be the inaugural Entrepreneurship Day at the summit, featuring local and national venture capitalists, disruptors, and startup success stories. Delaware Prosperity Partnership, one of the summit’s sponsors, will be in attendance and a representative will make the opening remarks on Wednesday morning.

Listed below are the keynote speakers for the 2019 Millennial Summit:

  • CLAY MOWRY is the VP of Marketing for Jeff Bezos’ space exploration company, Blue Origin, which is working to test launch what will be the first spacecraft to take tourists into space.
  • KECHI OKWUCHI, a two-time finalist on America’s Got Talent, is a singer, motivational speaker, and burn survivor advocate. She will be introduced by Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester.
  • DEL JOHNSON is Principal at Backstage Capital, a VC fund that specifically invests in underrepresented founders. He will be introduced by Governor John Carney.
  • WAYNE KIMMEL is a sports tech venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and author who has been named a top Innovator and one of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Power 100. He will be introduced by New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer.

Denée Crumrine, one of the co-chairs of the 2019 #MILLSUMMIT planning committee, says this of the conference: “The thing that makes the MillSummit such a great event is that year after year, it proves to be the best place to make new connections, launch new initiatives, and collaborate with the next generation of leaders in Delaware. As the conference grows, it continues to elevate Delaware as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovative ideas.”
