To many Wilmington Theatre fans, the summer would not be complete without the Delaware Shakespeare Festival. To adapt to the current circumstances, Delaware Shakespeare is putting on a (Mostly) Virtual Festival to celebrate their typical summer run at Rockwood Park.
The programming will take place July 17-August 2, the three weekends they would typically be staging their summer production (The Tempest was initially slated for summer 2020) with a variety of original, Shakespeare-related digital programming. The programming schedule is as follows:
Week 1
- Friday 7/17 at 7:30pm- Becoming Prospero
- Saturday 7/18 at 7:30pm- Janssen’s Picnic Contest Launch Party
- Sunday 7/19 at 5pm- Family Sunday #1
Week 2
- Friday 7/24 at 7:30pm- Two Bald Guys Direct The Tempest
- Saturday 7/25 at 2pm – Matinee! Selena and Greg Get Engaged! Much Ado About Something
- Saturday 7/25 at 7:30pm- Wine and Cheese Party
- Sunday 7/26 at 5pm- Family Sunday #2
Week 3
- Friday 7/31 at 7:30pm- Restorative Justice and The Tempest
- Saturday 8/1 from 6pm-7pm- Soliloquy Stroll: In-person event at Rockwood – tickets very limited!
- Sunday 8/3 at 5pm- Family Sunday #3
