Celebrating its 30th year in 2018, the Wilmington Art Loop is a monthly, self-guided exhibition of visual art displayed at art galleries, studios, museums and alternative art spaces in and around Wilmington. The free event takes place on the first Friday of each month from 5:30 – 9:00 PM (no Loop in January or July) and draws local and regional art lovers to the Downtown District and greater Wilmington area. Some venues offer opportunities to meet the featured artists while enjoying refreshments and, in some cases, live entertainment is scheduled. The art is available for viewing throughout the month of March.
The Loop is a program of the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and made possible through partnership with many amazing artists and venues.
The offerings in March include a closing reception tomorrow night for the Delaware College of Art and Design’s 21st annual Student Exhibition, which officially ends on Friday, March 9. The reception, which is free and open to the public, will take place at DCAD’s main campus, located at 600 North Market Street, and will include a mini-workshop on gouache conducted by Donna Cusano from Jerry’s Artarama from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Also this month, the Christina Cultural Arts Center at 705 North Market Street is hosting its annual exhibit, Eye Shadow, in celebration of Women’s History Month.
